Privacy notice

How we use your information

Draft for review. This notice will be finalised, with our full details and ICO registration number, before we collect any personal information.

Who we are

Ashford & Vane is an independent property guide to Chesterfield and the Peak District, written by Jason Helliwell. Contact details will be added here.

The area search

When you use the area search, the text you type is sent to Anthropic, the company that runs the AI model, to produce an answer from our own area data. Please don't include personal details such as your address or phone number. To prevent misuse we keep a short-lived, anonymised count of searches from each internet connection, deleted after an hour or so.

Property alerts

If you register for alerts we keep your name, email, budget, areas of interest and anything you tell us about what you're looking for. We use them only to send you relevant homes and updates, because you've agreed to that. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we delete your details when you do.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run this website: Netlify (hosting and form storage) and Anthropic (the area search). We never sell your information.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in to the private preview. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent at any time. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
