Worth knowing

WaltonBrookfield Community School is on this side of town, and school catchments make a real difference to prices on some streets. Check admissions with Derbyshire County Council before you fall for a house.
HolymoorsideNot many homes come up. Around twenty a year sell here, so the good ones tend to go quickly and sometimes before they reach the portals. If you're serious about Holymoorside, tell an agent early.
BakewellBakewell is inside the National Park, so planning goes through the Peak District National Park Authority, whose offices are in the town. Some homes carry a local occupancy restriction that limits who can buy them, and Derbyshire Dales charges extra council tax on second homes.
