Hasland was a village of its own until Chesterfield grew out to meet it, and it still feels like one. It has its own shops and pubs, Eastwood Park, and some of the best-value family homes on the south-east side of town.

The place

The old village centre has its own run of shops and pubs, and Eastwood Park is the green space everyone uses. Spital, on the town side, is part of the same ward.

It's one of the quickest parts of Chesterfield for the M1, which suits anyone commuting towards Sheffield, Nottingham or Derby by car.

The homes

A close mix of semis, terraces and detached homes. Hoole Street and Kent Street are where terraces come up at some of the lowest prices in the guide. St Philips Drive and Broomfield Avenue are where bigger family homes sell.

Spital Lane and Storforth Lane see the most sales of all.

Worth knowing

Outwood Academy Hasland Hall is the local secondary. The River Rother runs along the town side, with Environment Agency flood warning areas at Birdholme and Hady Hill, so check flood risk for homes in the lower streets.
